An eSafety, or as it’s commonly referred to, a pink slip inspection report verifies that your vehicle is safe and ready for NSW roads.

In New South Wales, most light vehicles that are 5 years or more will require a pink slip check before they can be registered (or re-registered).
Please check your Transport for NSW registration renewal papers for whether or not you are required to have a pink slip inspection done by a licenced mechanic, such as Advanced Car Clinic at Merrylands.
Whether you are in Parramatta, Guildford, Merrylands, and any other Sydney suburb, Advanced Car Clinic is the place to go for your eSafety inspection.
What happens after a pink slip inspection?
When your vehicle passes the eSafety check, Advanced Car Clinic will send the report to Transport for NSW electronically.
If the vehicle fails, our technician will issue you with a Repairs Needed report, and you’ll have 14 days to have the work done. If you have not organised for the repairs to be done within the 14 days, you will, have to pay for a new eSafety check.
After all repairs have been carried out, a follow-up check is required. We can perform the repairs for you, and once done, we will re-inspect the vehicle at no charge. If you have the repairs done yourself, and return it to us upon completion, we will perform another inspection free of charge.
Please note that currently, trailers that weigh less than 251 kilograms, and caravans with a tare weight of less than 411kg, do not require an eSafety check.

eSafety Inspection FAQs
An eSafety inspection (pink slip) report verifies to Transport for NSW that your vehicle is safe and ready for the road. Most light vehicles more than 5 years old will require an eSafety check before they can be registered in NSW. In NSW, a Pink Slip usually costs around $42. The fee cover's the time it costs the car mechanic to inspect and report on the vehicle's condition. This includes a brake check. The e-safety check report is sent electronically to Transport for NSW and arrives within minutes. The registration papers sent to you by Transport for NSW state if an pink slip (eSafety) inspection is due or not. If your vehicle is over 5 years old, you will need an inspection done every 12 months, but you can register your car for a 6 month period. Again, your papers will tell you if an inspection is required.
